“Only closed minds are certain.”
I tell stories. They come in the form of articles, op-eds, blog posts, films and photographs.
I’ve worked on documentaries, covering subjects from the shrimp industry in Bangladesh to the education system in Hong Kong.
Articles I’ve written have covered countries like Burma, Malaysia, Scotland and Greece. My bylines have appeared in publications like Al Jazeera English, The Daily Beast, Waging Nonviolence, The Diplomat and Quartz, among others. I’m also a regular blogger on Yahoo! Singapore.
I have a particular interest in social justice and human rights issues; I always want to find out how big events and policies matter to people’s lives. Off the clock I work with We Believe in Second Chances, an anti-death penalty campaign I co-founded.
A new media junkie through and through, I practically live on social networks, and may one day need to be surgically separated from my iPhone. In 2012 I was listed in a blog post on Foreign Policy’s website as one of the 100 women to follow on Twitter.
